‘How would it feel to connect the many lives we live
    in a lifetime,
to see them in the distance and realize
    that’s not me anymore
    or I miss her
or realize there are still little parts of all experiences
    inside of me.’

Each individual painting will be a tile for a mural of 12 pieces, the tiles are 40x40 cms making a total size of 120x160 cms.

‘Mural of Encounters’
Installation for Barra Variante, Oaxaca, Mexico
2024
200 x 100 cms

‘Inspired from our innate connections
to other human beings,
and the brief encounters we have with each other.

From a sense of rush,
we are always doing something,
or going somewhere.

Did you ever stop to realize
how our bodies enable us to live
in different degrees of freedom?’

About me

Amy Garcia Kennedy
Los Angeles California, USA, 1991

From an Oaxacan (Mexican) family, she has been living in Europe since 2014, currently resides in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where she pursues her career as a Business Engineer. In parallel, as an art lover, she has dedicated part of her time for the last ten years to take both analog and digital photographs that she has published through her blogs, as well as her narrative and reflective writings on her vision of life and the different aspects of her interpretation of her own human condition and that of the world around her.

Her visual work comes to life in 2019, through drawing, collage and painting, finding a new way of expressing herself, staying away from academic judgments and formalities, allowing herself to be frank and fun, resulting in images loaded with expressiveness and contrasts in color, forms and contents, whether figurative or abstract.

She has been part of the Rotterdam Ijzerblok studios since 2019, and participated on multiple art exhibitions in Mexico and Europe, most importantly in 2024 her art was presented in distinguised institutions such as in the UNAM, Mexico and De Doelen, Rotterdam.
